Biography
Celso joins the quartet that has accompanied the singer Rosa Passos for over 20 years. He is the drummer of Banda Mantiqueira, led by saxophonist, clarinetist, composer and arranger Nailor Azevedo. He was the drummer of Banda Savana, by Maestro José Roberto Branco. He performs in several shows in Brazil, Europe, Asia and the United States.
He has played with several artists such as: Fabiana Cozza, Eliane Elias (Latin Grammy - Álbum Dance of Time), João Bosco, Leila Pinheiro, Eduardo Gudin, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Jane Duboc, Edu Lobo, Nelson Ayres, Laércio de Freitas, Orquestra Arte Viva, Gilberto Gil, Orquestra Santos Jazz, Hermeto Pascoal, Zé Luiz Mazziotti, Dominguinhos, Sadao Watanabe, Toquinho, Steen Rasmussen, among others.
He held masterclasses at the renowned Drummers Collective in New York and Berklee College of Music in Boston USA.
She is a member of the BRS Quartet in partnership with the American website for online music education OPEN STUDIO. On the Fussy Music platform, Apple Store, BRS Quartet Playalongs, in partnership with Peter Erskine.
He participated as a guest professor in the 2019 editions of the Curitiba and Itajaí Music Festival. He worked as a teacher at Civebra 21, International Music Festival, promoted by the Brasilia School of Music. He joined the VII André Ruiz Cultural Week, promoted by the Porto Ferreira Department of Culture, in 2021. He participated, as an artist and teacher, in the first edition of the Campos do Jordão Summer Festival, held in January 2022.
He formed his own trio in 2016. The current lineup includes Fábio Leandro (piano) and Carlos Noronha (double bass). The trio has already performed in Argentina (Festival Cruces Magistrales) and in branches of the Sesc SP, with emphasis on the show held at Sesc Belenzinho and Instrumental Sesc Brasil (Sesc Consolação). In 2017, the trio performed alongside Otmaro Ruiz and Catina DeLuna, in São Paulo.
