Diego Zangado Biography

Drummer, percussionist, composer and educator, he is the invited teacher of the traditional Vila Lobos School of Music in Rio de Janeiro, the largest public music school on the state and one of the largest from Brasil. Professional drummer since 2000, has a solid career as a sideman, and also has a solo album released in 2011 and has released the single of his upcoming album link bellow. Is releasing his first book “Samba School on Drums” by Tipografia Musical publisher with a japanese edition being negotiated. Diego has been a te achei in the most campus Music festival a in Brazil teaching both drums and percussion . Played with several Brazilian music legends susch as Paulo Moura and Joel do Nascimento, later begun to play with Bossa Nova composer such as Francis Hime (recorded by Bill Evans and Barbara Streisand) Wagner Tiso, Dona Ivone Lara, Guinga, Yamandu Costa, Chico Buarque, Nelson Sargento, Nilze Carvalho, Fabiana Cozza, Miucha, Chico Pinheiro, Maria Rita, Casuarina, among others. Had played in the most famous festivals such as NY Summer Fest, Radio 5 France Festival, Warsaw Jazz festival, MinOn Festival Japan, World Festival of African Arts on Senegal, Festival Nuit’s d’Afrique on Montreal, Folklore Festival of Vietnam, MinOn Festival in Taiwan e etc. Gave workshops of Samba on drums and Brazillian Music on Warsaw and Krakow University (Poland) Angola, Germany (Vangellin), Japan, Taiwan and in Argentina as well.
