Gabriel Fröhlich Biography

I was born on May 14th, 1989 in Linz. Six years later I have played the drums for the first time of my life and it still is my great passion today.

During my development I could benefit a lot from my musical surroundings. This nourishing environment led to my decision to attend the „Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium Linz“, a high school focussing on popular music, songwriting, recording and live performances. After finishing school successfully, I moved to Vienna to study drums and percussions at the University of Music and Performing Arts. 
During my studies I founded the band „Folkshilfe“ with two friends in 2013\. Since our breakthrough in Austria in 2015 we are on tour and perform from 60 to 100 times a year in Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. As a German-speaking trio of pop music we entered the Austrian Album Charts at place 3 with our first album „Mit F“ in 2015\. In 2017 the second album „BAHÖ“ and the fifth place in the Austrian Album Charts followed. At the end of 2019 we released our new Album "SING" and we are currently on tour to present the new Songs.  

My biggest noteworthy success was definitely the Austrian Amadeus Award for the Best Songwriter of the Year in 2018\. There have been numerous special and unique moments in the concerts of the last years. Apart from these highlights, I am also thankful to be able to earn a living with my music.
