Paul Albrecht Biography

Paul Albrecht, 28, aka Paulbright, one of Germany's most sought-after and versatile jazz drummers and music directors, is a winner of the most prestigious national German jazz award for musicians under 30, who has been acclaimed internationally for his virtuoso technique and masterful stylistic interpretations. 
A former lead drummer and rhythm section leader for one of the most celebrated European jazz orchestras - The National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Germany - Paul is a founding member of the award-winning Jakob Manz Project and The Paulbright Experience. 
Paul has starred at the most renowned national music events in Germany as The Berlin Drum Days Festival, The Dresden Drum and Bass Festival, and the International Drum Festival in Mannheim. 
Since 2019, Paul has appeared as a featured guest star, rhythm section leader, and music director at some of the best jazz and drum festivals across Europe, including one of the biggest open-air festivals in Austria, Szene Openair, the major national Gurtenfestival in Switzerland, and the biggest jazz festival in Central Europe, the international Jazz Festival “LOTOS Jazz Festival” in Poland. 
In 2022, an internationally acclaimed live concert jazz program Paul directed and starred in at The prestigious Leverkusener Jazztage was filmed by Germany’s premier TV channel WDR, and then broadcast all over Europe by ARD.
